Sailing
Sailing on the Lake Balaton offers not only a completely new experience but it allows you to look at the shore of the Lake as well as the surrounding hills from a completely new perspective, while you are enjoying the peace and tranquility. The hours spent on the gently sparkling waves are sure to become an unforgettable experience. Boat trips
Apart from the sailboats, pleasure boats are available at the Sailing port in Gyenesdiás for those who would like to spend some time on the lake.
The following programs are available among the diverse offerings of the “Balaton from aboard” programs: pleasure boat trip on the Lake Balaton, wine-tasting, sunset tour, boat trip to Badacsony, sailing on the two-masted Juditta, which can easily be accessed by the physically challenged as well, or on the Pelso, adventure tours, kids’ programme, etc.

Cycling
A really adventurous holiday shouldn't miss the physical exercise and trial of the hillside routes, or an unforgettable trip around the Lake Balaton. It is a great experience to explore the region by bike. You can rent bikes in our apartments (even with childres seat).

Hiking
Lovers of nature can roam about Keszthely Hills to seek relaxation in a wonderful combination of quiet landscape, flora and fauna. Varied forests, plants, look-out towers and rest places make this region attractive for day-trippers.
Many tourist paths cross each other in the Keszthely-hills. One of the most favoured destinations for outings and recreation is what the locals call the “Nagymező” meaning Big Meadow. You can make a campfire, use the playground or sport facilities or seek cover under the shelter in case of a rainfall. The forest gymnastic track, which is a 1300 m long route consisting of 16 stations offering facilities for performing different exercises has its first station here. The Festetics Lookout Tower is just a few minutes hike from the meadow as well.
The hiking routs lead to lookout towers – of which the local ones are the Festetics and the Berzsenyi Lookout Towers –, springs, or interesting natural formations such as the cave hollowed out entirely by the wind called the Vadlánlik. The former dolomite quarry, which does not operate anymore and which has been placed under protection, is one of the most favored attractions of the hills. Some of the routes are also remarkable for Nordic walking, it is possible to sign up for a guided Nordic walking tour as well.

Fishing
Sitting in a boat with a fishing-rod in your hand when the sun is rising is an experience for a life-time. More than 40 different types of fish live in the Lake Balaton. Catching fish early in the morning is not a bad start for the day. Fishing on the awakening Balaton – an unforgettable experience! Enjoy the silence and the beautiful lake from our sailingboat with your landlord or from the shore of the Lake Balaton.

Spiderland adventure park
The Spiderland Adventure Park built straight to the Balaton on 4 ha area offers several levels including 50 elements in all: practice course, kids course (under 130 cm), 2 junior courses (130-150 cm), panorama-adrenaline course, slide course featuring 6 elements. Spiderland provides exciting experiences for everyone and it is perfect for all occasion.

Shooting
Have you ever tried skeet-shooting? Anyone can try out different shooting techniques in a beautiful natural environment on the rifle range situated by the foot of the Keszthely-hills.
The rifle range awaits both the amateurs and the professionals with both skeet shooting facilities and a wild animal shooting course near the Big Meadow (in Hungarian “Nagymező”). On the open days on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 am. till 5 pm. everyone has the opportunity to try themselfs at shooting.

Horseriding
A wide range of riding possibilities are waiting for you in Gyenesdiás at several stables within the resort. You can explore the region on horse-back, and you can participate on a several-day-long riding-tour. Gyenesdiás has many excellent tracks for riding from wild open fields to mountain tracks.

Bowling, squash, billiards
The so-called House of Sports (in Hungarian “Sportház”), situated right by the main road offers remarkable activities for bad weather, for a nice evening out, or just to have fun with a little exercise for families as well as friends, for the younger as well as the older guests.
Those seeking real activity can take advantage of the two modern, air-conditioned squash courts. The modern bowling alley, which has two lanes, offers lots of entertainment during the day and it is just the right place for a fun night out.

Pottery
One of the most popular activitiess among the family holiday programs is the one during which kids can try using the potter’s wheel in the J&A Pottery House. After taking a good look at the technique, those who are interested can test themselves too. The potter’s wheel is available for the guests every Wednesday from 5 pm, but it is possible to arrange a different time as well.

Antique oven collection
A private collection of unique cast iron ovens in Gyenesdiás, which can be viewed at in an exhibition room. The collection of 400 antique ovens, which is completely unique in the country, has been renovated based on original catalogues by the passionate collector, Vaszkó Emő himself. The ovens were used in the 1800s all over Europe. They are between 100-200 years old, but in their current state they meet the heating requirements of today. There are further utensils of the era in the collection as well, thus the exhibition is the right place for a hands-on history lesson as well.
The 400 pieces of the unique antique oven private collection can be visited in the Diótörő street on Fridays from 10 am.

Visiting the animal farm
Stroking and feeding of native animals, but the daring ones can even try to milk a goat on Thursdays at 10 am int he József A street 5.

Golf in Balatongyörök
If you search for a relaxing but still active program, we suggest the 18 hole championship course in Balatongyörök (8 kms) on the northern shore of Lake Balaton in a beautiful and scenic setting.

Water ski, wakeboard and windsurf school in Vonyarcvashegy
On the beach in Vonyarcvashegy a wire-rope water ski course awaits the dare ones, but the lovers of extreme sports can even try the wakeboard.
